The Gainesville Area Innovation Network (GAIN) presented their 5th Annual ShootOut and Cox Awards Dinner on Oct 26th. Of 30 companies applying, sixteen companies were selected to compete in front of a panel of investors, legal experts and entrepreneurs for the coveted TopGun Award at the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida Cultural Plaza. AuxThera’s compelling Trimauxil technology, a regulated product targeted for companion dog weight loss won $7,000 in cash and prizes and the famous Stetson “Top Gun” hat for the cowboy-themed event.
“The degree of competition grows every year and the GAIN organization was delighted with the quality of submissions this year — our 5th annual competition. AuxThera is certainly representative of what GAIN stands for — Entrepreneurs who want to change the world,” said Lee May, GAIN Executive Director.
AuxThera’s Chief Executive Officer, Al Fosmoe commented, “We are delighted to win this event but even more appreciative for the insights and helpful feedback we received from the judges. To receive interest and support from so many accomplished people who have walked this same path was inspiring to me personally.”
GAIN has a rich history of supporting entrepreneurs in North Central Florida. It is the fastest growing social entrepreneurship network in Florida with over 3,400 members. GAIN’s mission is to bring entrepreneurs together for workshops, networking events and seminars.
